Where did we get the term "western world"?

Greco Roman civilisations who defined the world into what was their empire and what was not. Eventually most of western Europe became part of the Roman empire and most of Asia did not creating an East-West divide. Asia meant - where the sun arises from, or orient or east (dawn) in other words.
