Basic needs for an aquarium?
That is a good starter set-up, but before you start stocking i suggest to Google the fish-less cycle process. If your tank is not properly cycled it is a death trap for fish. also when stocking fish be sure to test your water first to know what your current ph level is. This way you can pick a fish that does best in your water conditions. also if you really want an algae eater of some sort go with an Otocinclus Catfish since they stay small, and are suited to small tanks. understand that the common pleco grows to 2 feet, and the smaller pleco species grow to 6 inches. so you really need a 30 gallon for them. Tetras or danios are a good start and the danios are very hardy for beginners. glhf with your fish tank.
